Escape rooms are not really as easy as you might think. The design is there to challenge you and keep you on your toes.
Just like playing any team sport, be sure to talk out every step and every single thing you see or find with the rest of your team. Everyone needs to be on the same page and have the same information. If you don’t communicate everyone could be missing a vital piece to the puzzle and you won’t be able to be the clock.
Don’t all trip over each other spread out across the escape room and remember Tip #1. If you crowd together you might miss multiple clues, which in turn will slow down your progress. Most often there are clues all over the room and there are separate parts throughout each space.
Nothing is as it seems in your escape room. There are multiple puzzles and they will require many tries before you will solve them. Keep trying until you make it work. Don’t let yourself get stuck and too focused on a single way to solve the problem. Look at each puzzle as having multiple ways to solve it the more angles you look at each problem with the quicker you will be able to solve your escape room!
Escape rooms are a great way to build team and family communications, critical thinking and develop your morale. Be sure you make the effort to invest in your game time and you will not be disappointed.
